(Composed by Leah) Friday (March 6th) we woke up and went shopping. We found this little tea place and I drank 18 little cups of tea (you hear that sonny?). And when we were going shopping we saw scorpions and crickets and bugs on a stick for lunch (whisper: I think that’s kind of gross). We left Lijang and got back to Guangzhou. The next day, Saturday, was my birthday. I had noodles for breakfast. Then in the afternoon Lucy came over, and I got new fish because the ones we got at the zoo all died. Then after that I saw the present Lucy gave me, a card and a little doll that was like a statue. Then she had another surprise for me. She brought me to a fancy hotel that had a restaurant. We had to change elevators and went to the very top. And guess what! It rotated. It was also a buffet. Yesterday my mom had meetings and I hung out in Lucy’s mom Xin’s office. I watched a Chinese movie with Lucy. I didn’t understand it, but it was funny. Hee hee ha ha. Then we went home and collapsed on the bed. This morning I woke up really early for my first day of school. I woke up at 6 o’clock. I got a taxi to my school. There’s an amusement park right next to my school, and I was hoping that would be my playground. Sadly, it was not. But the playground is fun. I’m in school for 8 hours per day. And I was exhausted when I got home.
