We did some touristing with our friends in town. We visited Shamian Island where all international trade used to be sequestered in the 19th century, so it has a very European feel. From there we went to the medicinal herbs marketplace. Guangzhou is full of street markets focused on selling one kind of thing: jade, tea, leather goods etc. The medicine market bordered the pet market where we went next and got supplies for our fish tank.
